In a recent Cracked article, the world of popular Nintendo games is turned on its head, and the player is actually controlling the bad guy. Yes, that’s right, those nights you spent beating Kirby’s Adventure or Ocarina of Time were actually evil missions: quests of murder and death at the hand of the main character. There is no justification for it, by Cracked.com’s logic, you are a heartless beast.

Hit the jump to find out why!

Of course, Cracked.com isn’t known for their seriousness, and in a sea of sarcasm and satire, this article is no different. However, it might make you think twice about dusting off Super Metroid for another chance to completely obliterate Zebes again.

For the discussion pertaining to Zelda games, Cracked.com makes the argument that the Zelda bosses were unfortunately trapped in gloomy rooms, minding their own business, only to find a “brave, young hero” come to slaughter them. King Dodongo certainly is an example of this. He dwells in a room filled with lava that even he is not immune to, and the only land is a path barely wide enough to stand on. And at the will of a single Goron, Link relentlessly murders the secluded creature.

The same could be said for A Link to the Past’s Helmasaur, who had been trapped in a single room in a dungeon for who knows how long. It’s only reasonable to think that Helmasaur would be a bit upset at the sight of another living being.

To see the rest of the article, head on over to Cracked.com, and you can see that the cruel and tireless Mario kills the kids of a lonely turtle, and really, Mario is the bad guy.

Do you ever feel guilty for harming these innocent creatures? Tell us in the comments!
