Nintendo UK is Sending Out the Wrong Cover Plates

Ordered some fancy Legend of Zelda cover plates for your New Nintendo 3DS from Nintendo UK? Be prepared to send them back, unless you’re happy with not getting the design you chose.

Nintendo UK is apparently shipping out the wrong cover plates to customers, according to this new Reddit thread. Customers that ordered the Triforce design are receiving the Majora’s Mask design, and vice versa.

Reddit user Joekw recited his experience when calling Nintendo UK support:

Yup same with me. Just called up support and they said they’ve had quite a lot of calls about this already. He actually wanted to refund me and for me to wait until it was back in stock on the website and buy it again. I said that was a ridiculous request and he went to his supervisor. Now he’s taking my return and sending me the right item.

From the other comments this might actually be a country wide mess up. If they’ve actually not sent anyone the right plates this could be very interesting.

Another Reddit user, Cobros, claims that Nintendo UK is now sending out this email to customers who ordered one of the two cover plate designs:

The Nintendo Official UK Store is aware that there has been an issue with the delivery of a small number of the New Nintendo 3DS Cover Plates Numbers 023 and 024. We are looking into this as a matter of urgency and will be in touch with you directly should you have been affected. In the meantime, if you have received the incorrect cover plate, we’d ask that you hold onto it until you receive further communication from us. We apologize for any inconvenience.
