Nintendo Switch Online service is scheduled to begin September 18th, and accompanying it will be Switch firmware version 6.0. The update is scheduled to go live at 5PM PST, 7PM CST, and 8PM EST. The update will be accompanied by eShop maintenance, and after the maintenance concludes, customers will be able to purchase Nintendo Switch Online subscriptions. Most importantly, players will have until the maintenance begins to unlink their Nintendo Accounts to their Nintendo Switch user accounts. After this new firmware update, they will be permanently linked.

The firmware update sounds pretty simple from the user standpoint. I don’t really have an opinion on this, but here it is, the firmware that will begin Nintendo’s online era. Hopefully all the games online will have smooth netcode and good connection.
