This morning, Nintendo revealed details about the “Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack” which includes access to a selection of Nintendo 64 and Sega Genesis games, including Ocarina of Time, as well as the Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ Happy Home Paradise DLC. The Expansion Pack membership will launch on October 25th, 2021 and cost $49.99 USD a year (a $30 USD increase over the standard membership) or $79.99 USD for a family membership (a $45 USD increase over the standard family membership). 

The Nintendo 64 games that will be available at launch are:

  • The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
  • Dr. Mario 64
  • Mario Kart 64
  • Mario Tennis
  • Sin & Punishment 
  • Star Fox 64
  • Super Mario 64
  • WIN BACK: COVERT OPERATIONS
  • Yoshi’s Story

And the Sega Genesis games are:

  • Castlevania: Bloodlines
  • Contra: Hard Corps
  • Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine
  • Ecco the Dolphin
  • Golden Axe 
  • Gunstar Heroes
  • M.U.S.H.A.
  • Phantasy Star 4: The End of the Millennium 
  • Ristar
  • Shining Force 
  • Shinobi 3
  • Sonic the Hedgehog 2
  • Streets of Rage 2
  • Strider

Certain Nintendo 64 games available through the Expansion Pack will have newly added online play for up to 4 players. All retro games will have two-player capabilities, allowing players in single-player games to switch off controls or move a cursor on a friend’s screen to assist in spotting hints. The games can also be saved, suspended, and rewound at any time. And friends can voice chat via the Nintendo Switch Online smartphone app.

All Nintendo Switch Online members can also pre-order wireless Switch versions of Nintendo 64 and SEGA Genesis controllers, each costing $49.99 USD.
