Nintendo Switch is Dropping the Friend Code System

In the past, Nintendo’s online services used Friend Codes to add buddies you may want to play with during online portions of games. This system was criticized for being too cumbersome, and not as streamlined as competitor’ way of doing things.

President of Nintendo of America, Reggie Fils-Aime, has promised Friend Codes will not return to the company’s next console, named the Switch. We have yet to see what it will be replaced with.
