As was announced during the Nintendo Direct broadcasts, although Wii U GamePads will be available for purchase in Japan from launch, the US and Europe regions have to wait. This is owing to the fact that there will be no titles in either of those regions that will support dual Gamepad play.

But what if your Wii U GamePad befalls an accident? I know that if something happened to my GamePad, I wouldn’t want to have to wait until they came on sale separately. Luckily for us, someone else thought this and posed this same question directly to Nintendo.

One of the guys over at Gimme Gimme Games posed the question in their article here to Nintendo and Nintendo of America Representative Owen Allen responded. He said: “To address your inquiries directly, I can tell you that individual replacement Wii U GamePad controllers will be available from Nintendo Consumer Service for a fee.”

The biggest note I made about this response was the same as the author at the source, there is no word on how much this fee might be. With the second GamePads in Japan costing around the $170 mark, it obviously wouldn’t be that much, but still it is worrying to not know.

I don’t personally (fee price given or not) see this as a negative in the slightest though, as it is reassuring to know that replacements will be available if they are ever needed.

While on this note, how much would you guys pay for a replacement Wii U GamePad?
