Aside from the collection of games releasing for the Switch this year, one big item that Nintendo is hyping us up for is Super Nintendo World. Their upcoming theme park attraction is set to open this summer at Universal Studios Japan and is sure to attract a lot of gamers’ eyes. Their first promo for the attraction has offered a rather unique surprise, as the company chose to unveil Super Nintendo World with a music video.
Featuring music by Swedish electronic dance duo Galantis and dance-pop musician Charli XCX, “We Are Born to Play” is a music video that gives us a closer look at what to expect from this upcoming attraction. Apart from the group dance scenes, the video also provides a glimpse into the unique AR experience and attractions Super Nintendo World will offer, such as a Mario Kart ride.
A recent press conference revealed that said AR experience will be implemented through special “Power Up Bands” and a phone app. Nintendo Switch systems that guests bring into the park will even be integrated into some of the attractions.
Kurumi Mori of Bloomberg has reported that Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Japan is expected to open before July 24, 2020, which is the first day of the Summer Olympics in Tokyo. There are no confirmed opening dates for the Universal Orlando and Universal Hollywood versions of Super Nintendo World, but both are expected to be open in the coming years.
