Skyward Sword Link Using Beedle

A recent translation over at GoNintendo from Nintendo of France gives a short mention of the upcoming Skyward Sword for the Nintendo Wii. I’ve gone ahead and looked at the translation and have gathered a few things.

1. The game is still set for a 2011 release, but it will release when it’s ready. Something we have heard from the Zelda team before and I think this shows that meeting a specific release deadline is not something that the development team is concerned with.

2. Google translate outputs this quote from Nintendo of France. “Mr. Miyamoto wants to ensure that the proposal is consistent with our expectations. These are the games that deliver the promise to users, and Zelda will of course be highly anticipated.” This builds off the previous statement that Zelda has very high expectations and it is a very highly anticipated game. Nintendo wants to ensure that the game meets these high expectations and will take their time on the game to make sure it does.

The release date of Skyward Sword still seems to be in question. Last E3, it appeared that an early 2011 release was most likely. However, with this piece of news, as well as Miyamoto’s recent comment stating that the game is over half done, it seems unlikely we will be seeing the game in the first quarter of the year. To me, it seems more likely that the game won’t be released until well into the year, perhaps looking at a Summer release. Of course there is the outside chance that Nintendo pushes the game towards a late Fall release, making it the flagship title leading into the 2011 holiday season.

What do you guys make of this latest piece of news? Do you think we’ll be seeing the game in Spring? Summer? Fall? Let us know by posting in the comments below. Be sure to stay tuned here at Zelda Dungeon for all the latest on Skyward Sword.
