Good news for Switch players with European accounts, as Nintendo of Europe announces a new Gold Point Bonanza!
Through August 8th, 2022, players using European accounts will earn 10% back in Gold Points on select games, DLC, and services from the Nintendo eShop. These include the following:
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
- Animal Crossing: New Horizons
- Mario Party Superstars
- Mario Golf: Super Rush
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and both Fighter Passes for the game
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighters Pass Vol. 1
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighters Pass Vol. 2
- The Nintendo Switch Online 12 Months (Individual or Family)
- Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack 12 Months (Individual + Family) are also eligible.
Surprisingly absent from the list is The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
Players traditionally earn 5% back on eligible digital purchases, and 1% on physical purchases, the latter of which can be registered from the game’s options menu on the Switch’s home screen. With 5% per purchase, a purchase valued at $59.99 USD would earn 300 Gold Points. With each Gold Point being equivalent to 1 cent USD, 300 Points could be redeemed for $3.oo USD toward the next eligible purchase.
As a reminder, this 10% bonus is currently only available on purchases made through European accounts.
The Gold Point Bonanza is now on!
Get 10% back in Gold Points on selected games and #NintendoSwitchOnline memberships until 03/08.

John has been a Zelda fan for over 10 years now and is proud to say the series has had a major impact on his life (and wallet). After years of going to Zelda Dungeon for guides or the latest news on the series, John achieved their dream when they joined the writing team in 2019; John can hardly believe how long it’s been. A librarian, he loves meticulously arranging his library of Zelda games and collectibles. After what felt like an eternity of waiting for Tears of the Kingdom, John looks forward to the future of the Zelda franchise with enthusiasm, whether that’s the upcoming movie, a new spin-off/remake, or the next big game.
