Nintendo Labo and Synthesizers Form an Unlikely Union in this Great Cover of the Zelda Main Theme
Posted on May 12 2018 by Rod Lloyd
Since Nintendo Labo’s release a few weeks ago, I’ve heard a handful of Zelda music covers making use of the platform’s piano kit. While these arrangements were certainly admirable, I had not yet seen the Labo used to its full potential. This fact changed, however, when I heard an excellent new arrangement by Epic Game Music on YouTube.
This cover of The Legend of Zelda‘s main theme utilizes both the Nintendo Labo piano feature and a collection of synthesizers to achieve some outstanding musical results. Moving beyond the rudimentary sounds that Labo is capable of, this arrangement offers a layered and dynamic rendition of the iconic gaming track. The cover seems like the first big step for Nintendo Labo’s musical potential, and I’m now super excited to hear more from the platform.
If you liked the video above, be sure to share some love at Epic Game Music’s YouTube channel. The musician even hid four Triforces within the video, so let us know if you found them.
What did you think of the cover? Do you want to see Nintendo Labo explored musically more often? What are some good musical arrangements you’ve heard that feature Nintendo Labo? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
