Nintendo Further Demonstrates Skyward Sword HD’s Button-Only Controls
Posted on May 27 2021 by Heather Beard
Nintendo has been hyping up fans on social media about the upcoming release of Skyward Sword HD by sharing clips, promotional artwork, and other fun tidbits about the HD remake of the 2011 hit. In a recent tweet from Nintendo UK, they show off the different control styles that you can choose for the game.
In Skyward Sword HD, the player can choose to play with both Joy-Cons detached, reminiscent of the original game, or use the new button-only mode. The detached mode relies heavily on motion controls to swing the sword. Button-only relies heavily on the joy sticks for movement and swinging with precision. The player will need to move the joy stick in specific directions in order to swing the sword or perform special moves like the Spin Attack.
Personally, I’m looking forward to the button-only controls, so it’s nice to see them shown off in more detail. I love that Nintendo added these different modes so players can choose the style that suits them best!
