In an announcement that doesn’t come as too much as a surprise to some Nintendo fans, the Big N announced this morning that they will be releasing the Nintendo Switch Lite. As previously rumored, this version of the Switch is smaller than the original version and is a portable-only model. Not only are there no detachable Joy-Cons, but you cannot put it into a dock to play on your TV. And of course, because you cannot detach the Joy-Cons, this means that you will not be able to play certain games on this model.

Another notable feature is that the C-Button-style controls on the left have been replaced with a more traditional D-Pad. Also worth noting is that the Switch Lite does not come with HD Rumble or IR Sensors. The Nintendo Switch Lite will be released September 20th, will cost $199.99 USD and comes in three colors: Grey, Yellow, and Turquoise.

Nintendo has also announced a Pokémon Sword and Shield Limited Edition Switch Lite. Called The Zacia and Zamazenta Edition, this will come in its own unique colors and will be released on November 8th for $199.99 USD. This Limited Edition version will not come bundled with the newest Pokémon game, or even pre-loaded.
