Nintendo Announces New Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Bundle, Special Edition Smash Bros. Pro Controller

The December 7th release date of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is quickly approaching, and Nintendo is promoting its new fighting game with a new bundle, a new controller, and various other offers. The company recently announced a new bundle for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate to be released on December 7th, which will include a special edition Pro Controller, a silver case, and a copy of the new Smash title. And if fans simply want the new Pro Controller a la carte, Nintendo announced that a standalone version of the gamepad will be made available as well.
Nintendo recently announced several new products for the 2018 holiday season. Perhaps the biggest announcements related to the upcoming Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, such as a brand new bundle:
“A bundle featuring a new Nintendo Switch Pro Controller adorned with the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate logo, a steel case and the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate game launches on Dec. 7 at a suggested retail price of $139.99.”
And if the special edition Pro Controller piqued your interest, you’ll be happy to know that Nintendo will be selling it as a standalone product as well:
“The Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Nintendo Switch Pro Controller will also launch as a standalone product on the same day (Dec. 7) at a suggested retail price of $74.99.”
In other news, Nintendo also announced new “starter pack” versions of three Switch titles, including Breath of the Wild:
“…on Sept. 28, the “starter pack” versions of three top-rated Nintendo Switch games will launch in stores. These versions of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Splatoon 2 and Super Mario Odyssey will launch with the game and a colorful strategy guide at a suggested retail price of $59.99 each.”
And lastly, the company has announced a new 2DS XL color scheme and bundle:
“On Sept. 28, a New Nintendo 2DS XL system in a new purple + silver color with the high-octane Mario Kart 7 game pre-installed will be available at a suggested retail price of only $149.99. Both of the currently available New Nintendo 2DS XL color schemes (black + turquoise and white + orange) will also be changed to bundles with the Mario Kart 7game pre-installed on the same day.”
The Super Smash Bros. Ultimate bundle and Smash Bros. Pro Controller will release on December 7th alongside the game. The bundle has a recommended retail price of $139.99 USD, and the controller has a recommended retail price of $74.99 USD.
All “starter pack” Switch games, including Breath of the Wild, will release on September 28th for a recommended retail price of $59.99 USD. The new bundle for the New Nintendo 2DS XL will also release on September 28th, for a recommended retail price of $149.99 USD.
