During the Nintendo Direct a couple days ago, we received clarification regarding the upcoming Majora’s Mask DLC pack for Hyrule Warriors. While we already knew its release day and the two characters to arrive with it, we were only thrown a hint as to what the new costumes would be. Now, with some official art and screenshots, we know exactly what we’re getting, and yes, it’s what we all expected – but a little different than we pictured it.

Yes, that is indeed a Skull Kid costume, but with newcomer Lana sporting it. Not only does she has the garb of the mischievous child of the forest, but she holds the cursed mask itself: Majora’s Mask. It is a bit of a shame that the costumes do not affect how characters fight, as watching the White Sorceress wreak complete and utter havoc with the full power of Majora would certainly be fun, but hopefully this addition helps to assuage the painful realization that Skull Kid will not be a playable character in Hyrule Warriors. Then again, what more do we really need than the wannabe fairy in green? In addition to this themed costume, we will also be receiving Ocarina of Time costumes for Sheik and Impa, shown in the gallery below.

While unexpected, this isn’t a bad surprise in my opinion, especially considering how many have grown to appreciate this new character, but what do you say? Would this costume be better worn by one of the other characters present in Hyrule Warriors? Is this a satisfactory end to the costume and character DLC (of which we know thus far)? Is this enough to tide you over until Majora’s Mask 3D releases?
