I know, the game hasn’t come out in the United States or Europe just yet, so getting the first paid DLC pack announced for October seems premature – but the game itself has been out of development for at least a month, if not a bit longer than that. What’s nice is that along with the paid DLC, we’re going to be getting some free DLC along with it. First up the free stuff: you will be able to play as Valga, Wizzro, and Cia. No surprise there, as that complete the total roster of characters available in the game itself at launch. The free update with those characters also includes the ability to skip certain cutscenes. What is even more interesting is the new paid DLC, currently understood to be four separate packs that can be bought in a single package. Those packs include a ton of new stuff:

Hyrule Warriors Master Quest

  • October 16th – 1200 Yen
  • 1 new Weapon
  • New Scenario
  • Adventure Map
  • 2 Costumes

Twilight Princess

  • November – 1200 Yen
  • 1 new character
  • 1 new weapon
  • Adventure Map
  • 2 Costumes

Majora’s Mask

  • January – 1200 Yen
  • 2 new characters
  • Adventure Map
  • 3 new costumes

Ganon Pack

  • February – 500 Yen
  • 2 New Game Modes

So we know for sure we’ll be getting updates all the way through February. These packs have been announced for Japan and Europe, so naturally they will likely come to the United States as well. Looks like we’ll be getting two new playable characters from Majora’s Mask and one from Twilight Princess. The speculation beings on what those could be. Personally, I am pulling for Skull Kid, Tingle, and Telma.

It should be noted that by ordering all the packs together, you will get a Dark Link costume for Link. The price point seems to be around $15 USD for everything put together. I would assume we can prepurchase this DLC day one when Hyrule Warriors releases next week.
