New Amiibo Announced for Tears of the Kingdom

We all knew that there would be a lot of goodies released alongside Tears of the Kingdom, and now we’ve had our first glimpse at one of the new things to come! Today’s Nintendo Direct revealed a Tears of the Kingdom amiibo featuring Link.
The Hylian hero is posed with his new possessed-looking arm held in an outward position; one can only wonder what he’s trying to fight back. This is such a dynamic-looking pose, and I can’t wait to add this to my amiibo collection! This is also the same Link that we saw revealed at Nintendo Live back in 2022.
This amiibo — alongside others that are already available — unlocks different designs for Link’s Paraglider. The amiibo will also give players materials and weapons, as teased in the tweet below:

Hopefully we’ll also see a lot of other amiibo for Tears of the Kingdom, as Breath of the Wild had quite a few. As of right now, we don’t know a price-point on the amiibo in the US, but it currently costs 1,980 yen (roughly $15 USD) on Nintendo’s Japanese site. The amiibo will be available when Tears of the Kingdom launches later this year on May 12th.
