Just this week, Nintendo released Patch 1.0.6 which featured some notable Buffs and Nerfs to our line up of favorite Nintendo characters. Such characters include Link, Zelda, and even Ganondorf, the great Gerudo King himself. Though, not all characters were touched, including Pac-Man, Toon Link, and Zero-Suit Samus. But most importantly, we cannot forget the addition to the exclusive legendary fighter, Mewtwo! Let’s take a look!

New Additions

Newly introduced to the Smash roster, is the legendary Mewtwo and he’s better then ever! Mewtwo is a DLC exclusive that came with the patch, but only unlocks for those with a special code obtained from Club Nintendo. In order to obtain this fighter, one must register the PIN codes for both the Wii U and 3DS editions of the game in order to recieve the download key. Alternatively, you can purchase this fighter for $5 USD on the Nintendo E-Shop, if you qualify with Club Nintendo.

Nerfs

There’s nothing more annoying than having your favorite character end up being nerfed. But this can also be a blessing, for those really annoying fighters as well (*cough* Diddy Kong *cough*).

First off, let’s talk about Sheik, who is a very popular character in the Smash franchise. Shiek is very useful if you’re the type of player who likes to move fast, hit hard and do all kinds of cool acrobatic moves. Shiek is not very useful if you’re playing her on the ground but she can be extremely lethal mid-air, which is exactly what Nintendo decided to crush. Her mid-air B attack was given a 1% nerf.
