Update #2: Nintendo and Koei Tecmo officially announced that Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity will be shown at Tokyo Game Show on September 26th. The presentation will begin at 10 PM Japan time (6 AM Pacific, 9 AM Eastern) and is expected to last about 50 minutes.
You’ll be able to watch the presentation live right here.
Update #1: Nintendo of America confirmed on Twitter that they will be showing off more of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity on September 26th. While there has been some wishful thinking among the fanbase regarding a Breath of the Wild 2 showing, this announcement by Nintendo reinforces the fact that we won’t likely see anything besides more Age of Calamity on that date.
Nintendo did not specify what platform (YouTube, Twitter, etc.) they will be using to share this second look, or whether or not the showcase will coincide with Koei Tecmo’s offerings at Tokyo Game Show. We’ll keep you posted as the company provides further updates on their plans.
Original: Nintendo’s cycle of surprise reveals runs strong with the recent announcement of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, but it looks like more news on the game is just around the corner.
At the end of the game’s trailer, separate from the announcement video itself, a date is given confirming the next major update on the game. The date is September 26th, less than three weeks away. The video doesn’t say what the update will entail, but chances are it may feature more details on story and gameplay.
Koei Tecmo is currently scheduled to show off an unannounced title on September 26th at the Tokyo Game Show, so some are speculating that Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity will be the subject of that presentation. We’ll just have to wait and see.
Whatever the case, more news confirmed to be less than a month away is sure to excite fans eager to hear more about this game. Are you excited for the next update? Do you think we’ll also get news on the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild? Let us know in the comments below!
