In a recent IGN interview, Shigeru Miyamoto stated that he was there to show off Starfox, and not Zelda U. However, he revealed that the game is still planned to release on the Wii U, as there was previous fan speculation that it may be delayed until the NX is released. He also hinted that there is some “really great” footage of Zelda U that Nintendo will be showing off in the future, but not during E3 2015.

The following is a quote from the interview:

“We’re here to talk about Star Fox but Zelda is still coming to Wii U. My thing with E3 is that we always focus on what’s coming out in the immediate future. We have some really great Zelda footage and, at some point we will be showing that off, but not today.”

I’m glad Zelda U will still be releasing on the Wii U, and is not being delayed further so it can be released for the NX. Feel free to share your thoughts about this below.
