Peter Crimmins, a radio correspondent who works at WHYY-FM, attended a Philadelphia event in which storytellers were asked to share their opinions on which certain song was the most influential for them. John Charles answers that the theme from The Legend of Zelda for the Nintendo Entertainment System showed him “the idea that something so big and vast that I could get involved in unfolded in front of me. And twenty-seven years later, that has blown up.” He later states, “My love of things you can genuinely get lost in led me to my love of theater, my love of art, and my desire to somehow be involved in helping other people do that.”

This is another example of why the Zelda series has been so influential in other video game concepts. Its inspirational soundtrack has certainly been a reason why the series holds a special place in people’s hearts.
