Make Your Own Medicine of Magic

The folks at The Insatiable Geek have recently posted their very own recipe for the medicine of magic from Legend of Zelda. The recipe includes various alcohols and flavors which create a green mix drink that very closely resembles the well known green potion from the series. However absolutely no chu jelly is required nor will it replenish anyone’s magical capacity. With these instructions, and maybe if you are old enough to legally purchase and drink alcoholic beverages, you too can mix up your own green potion for any occasion. Jump inside to see the recipe for yourself.

Link’s Medicine of Magic (Green Potion)

2 Liters Sprite
1 Liter Green Apple Soda
1 C. Vodka
1/2 C. Green Apple Liqueur
1/4 C. Lychee Liqueur
Combine and enjoy!

Yes, these measurements are correct. It’s a party drink for your nerd buddies. This has a nice apple flavor (but not too strong), and the lychee adds a nice touch of exotic. Keep in mind we used a 5 liter boiling flask for this monster. So start breaking open pots and bring your rupees to the witch’s hut… or hit up the liquor store, whatever.

This was an interesting idea, and their picture of the drink in a large potion bottle was a nice touch as well. I have never been a fan of apple flavor, I might have to try substituting lime in there somewhere if possible. I would have to get myself one of those large potion bottles no matter what. Or at least one that resembles a bottle from one of the later games. Looking over their site some, I have noticed that they have actually made quite a few drinks from various shows and games before. I might have to try some of those later on as well.

So what do you think? Did you like the mix? Are you going to try making this yourself? Let us know in the comments below.
