We’ve heard takes on Zelda songs ranging from fully-realized covers using a wide variety of traditional instruments, to electronic remixes in modern genres such as dubstep, but it’s a little uncommon to encounter a trap remix of a Zelda tune. Interestingly enough, trap artist Deon Custom has released an awesome remix of the “Song of Storms” from Ocarina of Time, which was featured on Trap Nation‘s Youtube.

To be honest, I’m actually impressed with how well this song plays: it’s very upbeat, and it definitely inspires me to get up and move. The remix features primal drum beats, a satisfying steady build, and an epic drop featuring bombastic electronic horns as the main melody.

Personally, I love trap, and I subscribe to Trap Nation’s youtube, where they don’t post video game music too often, so it was a neat surprise to see them feature a Zelda remix. Perhaps, they will feature more video game music in the future if making trap remixes of gaming tunes becomes more popular. If you liked this song, you can check out more work by Deon Custom, the artist behind the piece, on his Soundcloud account, or support him on his Facebook and Twitter!
