Majora’s Mask has been available for the Nintendo Wii Virtual Console for quite some time. Wii owners can download Majora’s Mask for 1000 Nintendo Wii Points, the equivalent of $10. However in a special deal currently being run at Club Nintendo, fans can trade in their Club Nintendo rewards points for a free download of Majora’s Mask. The game will cost you 150 Club Nintendo rewards points and I personally think it’s a heck of a deal. You can redeem your points at Club Nintendo, and you’ll be given a 16-digit download ticket to type in on your Nintendo Wii Console to be able to get the free download.

I think the ability to cash in Club Nintendo Rewards points for Virtual Console games is an awesome idea and it should have been available from day one. I personally have racked up a decent amount of Club Nintendo Reward points and after getting the Zelda goodies, I have a lot of extra points sitting around. While I personally haven’t used the Virtual Console to buy old games, the statistics show that a heck of a lot of gamers have used it. I’m a collector myself so any of the games I would download for Virtual Console, I’d just get them on their original console. Nevertheless, this is good reason to go ahead and download Majora’s Mask, and hopefully more virtual console Zelda titles will be available via Club Nintendo in the near future.

It’s not quite Majora’s Mask 3D… but this ultimately will give the game a bigger audience and hopefully those Majora’s Mask 3D ideas come to fruition in the future.
