Maine Has a Restaurant Inspired by Yeto from Twilight Princess

Remember Yeto? If you don’t, here’s a quick refresher: Yeto is a yeti in Twilight Princess who lives in the Snowpeak region. Upon meeting Yeto, you learn that he wants to cook up some pumpkin soup for his ailing wife, hoping to heal her and rekindle their marriage. Upon completing an ingredient hunting quest, Yeto will reward you with some of his delicious pumpkin soup! Inspired by Yeto, a restaurant in Maine called Yeto’s opened up in early 2018, serving a blend of Southern and Italian cuisine. It’s even still up and running today!

The restaurant features dishes like a big brisket biscuit sandwich and a version of penne alla vodka made with local gin subbing for the vodka. Sounds like a good sampling to me! There are even some more overtly Zelda-inspired dishes — such as a pulled-pork sandwich called The Ganon and a pancake plate called The Snowpeak Stack — as well as mixed drinks like Kokiri Punch and Lon Lon Milk.

Yeto and his wife’s love story was the inspiration for this themed restaurant. Just like Yeto, the restaurant uses local ingredients in their dishes to create comforting food that could melt the snow from any snowy mountain.
