Come Listen To This Whimsical, Energetic Jazz Cover Of The Song of Storms From Ocarina Of Time

“Song of Storms” is one of the integral tunes that Link learns to play during his quest in Ocarina of Time. An incredibly simple but catchy and iconic melody, “Song of Storms” has become a popular song for musicians to cover over the years. Ranging from sweeping, epic orchestrations to dubstep covers, “Song of Storms” has been re-imagined across various musical genres, including jazz, as performed by insaneintherainmusic.
This cover does more than simply replay the song with a saxophone, piano, and a bouncing rhythm. At nearly seven minutes long, the cover completely reinvents the original melody by utilizing a range of instruments. On top of that, each reprisal of the chorus is different from the last, and that makes the buildup of the melody worth listening to. This jazz cover of “Song of Storms” maintains the almost whimsical quality of the original while allowing the musician to add his own, personal flare to the song. I’ve listened to many “Song of Storms” covers over the years, but I’ve never heard such an energetic, fun, and lively jazz version.
