Hyrule Field is a major part of Twilight Princess. The developers at Nintendo expanded on the field concept seen in Ocarina of Time, creating a sprawling set of interconnected fields for the 2006 spiritual successor. Throughout Twilight Princess, Link travels across the fields numerous times, and some key story moments take place in the beautiful wide, open space. In addition to its expanded size, the Twilight Princess Hyrule Field has a gorgeous new musical theme that has proven to be one of the most popular songs from the soundtrack.

This 16-piece brass cover by The Game Brass is a nuanced and lush arrangement of the iconic song. The Game Brass uses the trumpet, trombone, tuba, french horn, and other brass instruments to create a dramatic and boisterous song. One of the things that makes this arrangement of “Hyrule Field” so special is the integration of what The Game Brass calls “adaptive audio variations” — the different pieces of music that play when Link is idle or being attack that are different from the main theme. Combining the main theme with these adaptive audio variations also allows the musicians to create a longer and more dynamic piece of music.

Overall, my favorite section of the song is from 2:30 to around 3:15. This section of “Hyrule Field” is the same melody as the “Ballad of Twilight” (the final Howling Stone song). That melody is one of my favorite leitmotifs across films, televisions, and video games. I get goosebumps every time I hear this song, whether as part of “Hyrule Field” or the Howling Stone section. It is a great musical moment that showcases what Twilight Princess has to offer players.
