The Forest Temple is one of the most fascinating locations in Ocarina of Time. The first adult dungeon in Ocarina of Time is a mix of regal architecture and haunting decay. The ruins of the structure are a twisted maze haunted by ghosts that lurk deep in the darkness.

The musical theme for the Forest Temple creates an adequately haunting atmosphere. The song has a mysterious sound that makes the player feel on edge. This synth cover by Mewmore transforms the theme in order to create a new age take on the classic. This version of the song maintains an off-kilter atmosphere, with discordant synthetic sounds, while adding a strong percussion foundation.

Overall, this version of the song feels like it would could be perfect fit for Sheikah Shrines if they return in Breath of the Wild‘s sequel. While Breath of the Wild only had one theme for its Sheikah Shrines, there is an opportunity to expand the number of songs used for the sequel. Adding more songs as Shrine themes would be a great opportunity for the music department to remix some old songs for a new audience.
