Listen To This Epic Synth Cover of “Link is Awake” from Link’s Awakening

In Link’s Awakening, Link arrives at Koholint Island after a massive shipwreck. In a beautiful, mysterious sequence, Link awakens from his slumber in Marin and Tarin’s house. During this segment of the game, a unique song plays which is referred to “Link is Awake” or “Sword Search”.
This epic rearrangement of the tune by Amie Waters is for anyone loves the lush sounds of synths. In addition to a variety of synthesizers and electric pianos, the cover also includes a beautiful acoustic guitar. The guitar is an intriguing contrast to the digital sounds, and it is a welcome addition to the arrangement. This long remix layers many different sounds over each in order to create a rich and evocative version of “Link is Awake/Song Search”.
Part of Waters’ “Zelda Month” tradition, the arrangement perfectly captures the dreamlike nature of Link’s Awakening. The mix of synthetic sounds and acoustic guitar captures the oddness of waking up in an unfamiliar place and feeling like something is not quite normal. I would love to hear all of Link’s Awakening re-scored with synth sounds/instruments. The results would be intriguing and fitting for a game that explores the strange world of our dreams.
