Update: A second Linktober 2022 calendar, called “Linktober Quest,” has been released, with alternative prompts encouraging content creators to take their Zelda-based original character on a 31-day journey.

Original: The Zelda fandom is one I’m always proud to be a part of. In any given day of the year, even amidst news dry spells, the creativity in fan artists, writers, and musicians is undeniable. The way they express their love for the Zelda series is seen clearly through the details, perfections, and even the unique imperfections that they add to the table.

In October especially, art tends to skyrocket, as events like Inktober encourage artists of all kinds through 31 prompts, one for each day in the spooky month. Joel D. Siegel, head of the Zelda version “Linktober,” encourages the Zelda fandom every year to tap into their creativity alongside their fellow fans. The result is truly stupendous, seeing all the content emerge, but it doesn’t come from nowhere. In order for artists to plan and prepare amongst their busy schedules, Joel often posts the Linktober prompts over a month in advance. Thus, as we near September, the excitement for the annual Linktober event grows, as the official calendar has been posted.

Joel welcomes all skill levels and art forms, and invites participants to do as little or as many prompts as they want. Nothing specific is required to participate either, as it’s up to you whether you’d like to create on your own or share your works with others. You can keep track of the event and check out creations that get posted in October by following Linktober on Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram, and more via their Linktr.ee. You can also check out their website here!

Will you participate? Do you draw or sculpt? Do you write or create music? Do any of the prompts inspire you? Let us know in the comments below!
