With less than a month until its release on the Switch, Link’s Awakening was one of Nintendo’s marquee showings at Gamescom 2019. Not only did the newest Zelda title win Best Nintendo Switch Game at the show, it was also the subject of an extended, in-depth demonstration by Nintendo UK. In addition to more footage of Link’s Awakening‘s new Chamber Dungeon, the demo also featured our first look at the game’s fourth dungeon, Angler’s Tunnel.

Presenters Nimmz, Chris, and Filippo take us on an extended tour of Koholint Island in this new demo, showing us the quest leading up to Angler’s Tunnel and the first half of the dungeon itself. And as many Link’s Awakening fans may know, Koholint leaves a lot of room to get sidetracked. Over the course of this 30 minute presentation, we also get another look at the game’s new dungeon-building feature, the Chamber Dungeon, as well as glimpses of the Tal Tal Heights and Yarna Desert regions. I was most excited to see the remake’s version of the Animal Village for the first time!

As it took place during Gamescom, the demonstration also provided some interesting information for Zelda fans in Europe. According to the presenters, the Link’s Awakening remake can be played in languages not included in the original, such as Spanish, Italian, and Dutch. Hopefully that means even more people around the world can enjoy this magic, little game.

Link’s Awakening will release for Nintendo Switch on September 20th.
