I’m always on the hunt for unique Zelda decorations, all the better if they’re DIYs. Creator Retronize has a fun, rather simple little Link’s Awakening craft idea for anyone with a printer to give a try. All you need for this paper diorama is Retonize’s free design template, photo paper, something to cut it with, adhesive, and a plastic cube to display it in. If you can’t print, the finished diorama from Retronize’s instructional video is currently for sale on Etsy.

This darling little diorama depicts the iconic pixelated shot of Link and Marin sitting on a log on the beach, surrounded by palm trees. Retronize shows the proper way to cut the template so that it bends into a cube shape, as well as the ideal spots to place the trees and beach rocks for a dynamic 3D effect. Crazy glue and a precision knife will smooth out the crafting process, and those who want to show off their diorama in a clear cube can get one here.

Retronize is new to YouTube, but has already uploaded videos for Pokemon and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles paper dioramas in addition to this one. Over on Etsy, a double-sided A Link to the Past diorama of Flute Boy in both the Light and Dark World is for sale– so perhaps we’ll see a tutorial for that soon.

Do you think you’ll try out this DIY for yourself? Are there any other iconic Zelda moments you’d like to see made into paper dioramas? Let us know in the comments!
