Learn to Craft a Clay Chuchu From Tears of the Kingdom
Posted on September 05 2023 by John Furby
For the hobbyists looking for a fun and easy rainy day project, PowerUpClay has taken a classic Legend of Zelda enemy and turned it from jello into clay.
The artist put together a brief step-by-step tutorial video on how to create a figurine of a Blue Chuchu as it appears in Tears of the Kingdom. Using polymer clay to sculpt the initial sphere, they finish off the body with round spots of slightly lighter colored clay to simulate the bubbles inside the Chuchu. After adding the bulbous eyes, the artist coats the Chuchu in a layer of gloss glaze to give it a brilliant shine. It’s the perfect finishing touch to the process and makes the figure really stand out and pop. You can use the video as an instruction on how to create your own villain to battle your Link action figure, or just enjoy watching the making of a screen-perfect monster.
PowerUpClay has an extensive video library of their other creations, along with several Legend of Zelda characters and numerous other Nintendo favorites. Check out their YouTube channel for all of their wonderful clay creations.
