Koji Kondo, the man behind the theme for The Legend of Zelda, recently sat down with the people over at GoNintendo for an interview. The session was covered on one of the site’s Podcast episodes, but it seems they will be sharing small pieces of it throughout the week. Today’s moment of choice is of particular interest to the Zelda community.

Kondo was asked about which creation of his he would love to go back to, and rework with the use of modern instruments. Rather than choose a single track or game, he said he would love to revisit the music for The Legend of Zelda. He voiced interest in going back to various different games from the series, hand-pick songs and remake them into a compilation. Kondo said he envisioned himself playing the piano while two other Nintendo musicians played the drums and bass, remixing these songs into jazz. Although he wouldn’t confirm if this would actually become a thing at some point, it did seem as though he’s had this thought for quite some time now!

What are your thoughts on this? Would you like a project like this to happen at some point in the future? If so, what songs would you like to hear redone? Is there a different genre you’d rather hear them in other than jazz? Let us know in the comments below!
