There’s no doubt that some Zelda fans have been clamoring for a chance to take their hack and slashing on-the-go with a Switch port of Hyrule Warriors. Well now they’ll be getting that chance with the upcoming release of Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition, which will include everything from both the Wii U and 3DS versions, along with a couple new features as well. Just recently the producer of the game released a message to those fans.

Yosuke Hayashi, producer of Hyrule Warriors, sat down with Famitsu not too long ago to talk about the upcoming Definitive Edition. Hayashi did confirm in the interview that the game is currently 95% completed. The title comes out in March for Japan, with a later Spring 2018 release for other territories, so this comes as no surprise.

Along with the interview, Hayashi also released a special message (along with new images from the Switch version) to the fans:

It was announced during a Nintendo Direct a few days ago, but Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition will be released on Nintendo Switch on March 22 in Japan.

This title will include both Hyrule Warriors and Hyrule Warriors Legends with all additional content. We’ve been receiving a lot of requests from our fans that they “want to play Hyrule Warriors on Nintendo Switch,” so we’re able to realize this project.

We’ve tuned the game for Nintendo Switch, upgraded the graphics to full HD, and adjusted the balance so that the game becomes easier to play.

Furthermore, it will also have new features like additional costumes from Breath of the Wild and Joy-Con share play.
This is truly the ultimate Hyrule Warriors, so to both players who have never played it and those who have experienced the game, please kindly play this.

—Yosuke Hayashi
