Earlier today, Nintendo announced through their Japanese Twitter account that the Hyrule Castle 64 stage is coming to Super Smash Bros. on Wii U & 3DS as paid DLC. The stage launches this Friday, July 31st alongside a handful of other updates, including the long-awaited Tourney Mode, YouTube Replays, Mii Fighter Costume Packs and more.

Unlike the previous N64 DLC stage- Dream Land 64- Hyrule Castle 64 seems to have gotten a bit of a face lift. The background has been updated with a cleaner image and the stage’s textures have been polished up as well! Don’t worry though, the stage looks just as you remember it on the N64, just made to better fit modern TVs.

How do you feel about the addition of previous Super Smash Bros. stages being added versus new stages? After the Majora’s Mask 3D launch earlier this year, I’m hoping to see a return of Great Bay! Also, will you be downloading this stage yourself? Let us know in the comments below!
