How did your Thanksgiving fair? Mine went pretty well, with plenty of turkey, ham, mash potatoes, and all the rest still lingering in my stomach today. Of course, today also marked the true start of the Holiday shopping season in the United States, kicking off with Black Friday, the day that has the most in-store sales you’ll ever see at any point during the year. Of course, I say in-store because Cyber Monday also exists, which brings the best online shopping deals you can find across the board all in one day. That being said, you’re here because I mentioned the words Majora’s Mask and A Link Between Worlds.

Every person anticipating any sliver of hope for

Majora’s Mask 3D or Majora’s Mask HD has been hanging their hats on words spoken by Eiji Aonuma, saying playing the game to completion is going to please the Majora’s Mask fans. Well folks, we all know about the Majora’s Mask literally sitting on Link’s wall at home, but what many may not be aware of is that there is a little something going on only in Hero Mode. Warning: Spoilers Ahead

Below in the gallery you will find all the excerpts for Ravio’s Journal, an item you can only find during your quest through the game in Hero Mode. The journal makes a specific reference to three days—and a three day system was the foundation of Majora’s Mask. You see, though…that’s really where the reference ends. While some are trying to draw conclusions that the rest of the text is

referencing Link in Termina, it’s important to note that this is Ravio’s Journal, not Link’s. Link is not Ravio, folks, so sorry if you were speculating as much. Everything being referenced is in direct relation to the story in A Link Between Worlds.

The person being duped is Hilda, Princess of Lorule. The one doing the duping is Yuga. The “no choice but to go” is his acceptance that in leaving Lorule, he may never see Hilda again. He is searching for Link—the hero—to save Hilda from Yuga’s plot. While it’s fun to try and draw correlation to

Majora’s Mask, I feel that is simply reading a bit too much into it. Yes, it happens over the course of three days. Yes, I am positive the three days aspect is indeed an easter egg for Majora’s Mask. However, just like Majora’s Mask literally being on your wall, that’s really all this is.

Sorry folks, we still don’t have an answer to the question of

Majora’s Mask being remade or not.
