Grezzo is Developing Link’s Awakening Remake
Posted on June 20 2019 by Rod Lloyd
The Legend of Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma recently sat down with Kotaku to discuss a range of topics, from the newly announced Breath of the Wild sequel to the upcoming remake of Link’s Awakening. Aonuma even opened up about the current work culture at Nintendo and his own philosophies behind overtime.
Another key takeaway from the published interview was the revelation that development house Grezzo, the same studio that developed Tri Force Heroes and the 3D remakes of Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask, are developing Link’s Awakening for Switch. Aonuma’s primary Zelda team will meanwhile be devoting all their time to the Breath of the Wild sequel.
Grezzo’s track record over the past few years has certainly proved that the studio is more than capable in handling the Zelda brand. Both Ocarina of Time 3D and Majora’s Mask 3D were well-constructed remakes that did a lot to enhance their original experiences. I am confident that their hard work on Link’s Awakening will not go unnoticed.
Link’s Awakening for Switch is scheduled to release on September 20th.
