RavioSo, how did everyone like E3? Have any opinions on it? I know I do, but we can talk about that later- let’s get to the Gossip Stone! In A Link Between Worlds, there was the option to rent items if you didn’t have enough rupees to purchase it- however, there’s a catch. Simply renting an item means that if all of Link’s hearts are depleted and you’re greeted with the Game Over screen, all the items you have on you that were rented will be taken back. It was an interesting mechanic, and that’s what I want to talk about today. If you’d like to read more, don’t hesitate to hit the jump!

As stated above, there was a renting mechanic in A Link Between Worlds which allowed players to rent items for a cheaper price, rather than buying the item at its full price. The shop was owned by Ravio, who -once you meet him- will take Link’s house and turn it into his shop. He sells a variety of items you’d find in a dungeon, and that’s the main point of his shop. Instead of finding the dungeon item, you must rent or purchase the item beforehand to get into the dungeon. You’re able to rent multiple items at one time, but sometimes that isn’t the best idea. If you’re met with the Game Over screen, any and all rented items will be taken back to Ravio, and you’ll be forced to either rent them again or just flat out purchase them for the convenience.

The price could vary depending on the item, so if you’re heading into a dungeon, make sure your wallets are full first, so you can rent/purchase some required items.

So, what’s your opinion? Should the renting mechanic return in future Zelda games, or would you prefer sticking with the normal formula? And on another note, again, what were your opinions on E3? Was there anything in particular that you guys enjoyed, or did it not meet your expectations? Sound off in the comments!
