There have been a multitude of different musical instruments that have played pivotal roles throughout the Zelda franchise. Whether it be the recorder from the original Legend of Zelda or the eight Instruments of the Sirens from Link’s Awakening, there has always been a prevalent theme of music being a driving force in many of the series’ narratives. With that said, I doubt that anyone would contest that the most iconic of said instruments is the titular ocarina from Ocarina of Time. It’s such a simple instrument, but it’s capable of evoking a wide range of emotion, as made evident by recent music video by ocarina producers STL Ocarina.

Rachael Wilson shows off her amazing talent in this video that covers several melodies from OoT. Using fitting locales to accompany her playing, she captures the spirit of Zelda easily, and it’s hard not to get a bit nostalgic thinking back on the experience of hearing these songs for the first time back in 1998. There’s something for everyone here, as she samples favorites like “The Lost Woods”, “Song of Storms”, and of course “Zelda’s Lullaby”. It also doesn’t hurt that she’s in full Princess Zelda garb to help add to the authenticity of these compositions!
