Get a Retrospective View of the Zelda Series With These Analytical Videos

In an effort to analyze the evolution of the Zelda series, YouTube’s Chyde began a 15 part series of videos in April of 2019, each one highlighting a different single-player Zelda game. The videos extensively delve into the pitfalls and perfections of many different Zelda games, while still keeping in mind how both the age of a game within the video game industry and his current retrospective impressions play a significant role in his judgement.
The series starts by looking at the very first Zelda game, The Legend of Zelda for the Nintendo Entertainment System. The video explains how well the game has aged both in comparison to future Zelda games as well as on its own without that context, additionally giving credit to the strong foundation it provided for the Zelda series in many different aspects.
Chyde has also done similar analyses for The Adventure of Link, A Link to the Past, Link’s Awakening, Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask, Oracle of Seasons & Ages, The Wind Waker, The Minish Cap, and, most recently, Twilight Princess, meaning that Chyde has completed ten out of his advertised 15 analysis videos.
