The Gerudo Valley theme is perhaps one of the most popular themes from Ocarina of Time, and for good reason. The unique rhythmic groove, along with the epic setting it evokes, has kept it relevant in everything from symphonic arrangements, to soothing guitar covers. To some extent, it seems like it’d be particularly difficult to capture the epic nature of the piece on something as subdued as say, a kazoo. Enter Tsuko G. of Kazoo’d.

Known for video game music (VGM) arrangements and covers on kazoo, Tsuko G. has tackled everything from Super Mario Sunshine, to Super Smash Bros, to Xenoblade Chronicles, to Shovel Knight. This particular cover of Gerudo Valley actually marks his entrance into Zelda covers – and what an entrance it is.

With six kazoo parts, two clapping parts, and one percussion part to provide some momentum, this really is a full-fledged take on the legendary piece. And while the unique tone of kazoos may be a hit-or-miss with some listeners, there is no denying that Tsuko’s cover captures the infectious energy of the tune, both through his tight performance and his engaged demeanor.

Tsuko G. is always taking requests for his next “Kazoo’d!” piece, so in addition to sharing your thoughts with us here, make sure to leave a comment or two on his YouTube, Facebook, or Twitter account, or make your support hear on his Patreon. Additionally, if you just have to have some kazoo tunes on the go, you can download his music from Loudr. What Zelda tune would you like to hear Kazoo’d next?
