GameStop Excited About Wii U, Hopes It Pushes Sony & Microsoft Into Next-Gen

With the Wii U coming out in just a matter of months we’ve still heard nothing official about Nintendo’s competitors Sony & Microsoft’s next-gen consoles, excluding speculation and shady eBay auctions.
GameStop is definitely looking forward to the Wii U and what more, they hope it makes Sony and Microsoft hurry up and release their next-generation consoles sooner. I’d preferably have them take their time so my Xbox 720 is nice and polished without defects due to rushed development, but that’s just me.
“We’re very excited about the Wii U launch. It would not hurt our feelings at all if the Wii U caused them (Microsoft and Sony) to accelerate their development process on the next generation of consoles. We’re looking forward to that release (Wii U), we’re looking forward to taking pre-orders. What we’re really excited about is it’s really the first part of the next console launch.” – GameStop’s Tony Bartel
