Games Master: 250 Greatest Gaming Moments: Lots of Zelda

Game Master is the largest video game magazine available in the UK and this month they just had their 250th issue. In celebration they are counting down the top 250 greatest gaming moments of all time. Like with any such list, there are tons of Zelda related moments. If you make the jump you can see the listing of all the Zelda moments that made the list. Strangely, some rather key moments in the Zelda series were missing. In any case, be sure to check out the listing and let us know what your Top 5 favorite Zelda moments are.

  • 169: Ocarina of Time – Opening a treasure chest.
  • 133: Skyward Sword – Holding the Master Sword
  • 106: Link’s Awakening – Getting caught stealing.
  • 89: Majora’s Mask – Clock Town is crushed by the moon.
  • 88: Adventure of Link – Battle with Dark Link
  • 63: The Wind Waker – Impaling Ganondorf
  • 62: The Wind Waker – The Hero of Time (Intro)
  • 45: A Link to the Past – Entering the Dark World
  • 3: Ocarina of Time – Riding Epona

Obviously with such a list there is going to be severe disagreement. When I think of the best moments in Ocarina of Time, I don’t really think of opening treasure chests or riding Epona. I think of the reveal of Sheik being Zelda… or exploring the Market for the first time as an adult. How about defeating Ganondorf with the Master Sword? That’s just for Ocarina of Time. I do think the listings for the other games are pretty good and it’s worth noting that nothing was listed for Twilight Princess.
