The last of the five exclusive videos as part of the Game Informer exclusive feature is now available. This last video focuses on the Fire Temple’s mini boss, the Lizalfos. These enemies have been seen before in previous screenshots and trailers of Skyward Sword, and we only got a second or two to see Link fight them. In this video we get to see the complete fight. Link enters the room and shortly after the Lizalfos notice him and starts walking towards him while pumping up their massive stone gauntlets. After that little scene, the battle begins. Jump in to see more.

The moment it goes into the gameplay, Link quickly attacks, but the Lizalfos dodges with incredible speed. Link tries his best to land an attack, but the Lizalfos is focused and dodges without breaking a sweat, wow they’re fast! Finally Link manages to hit the Lizalfos. Notice that the Lizalfos was blocking the bottom half of it’s body and left the top half completely unprotected? Did you also notice that Link was targeting the further Lizalfos and the other one was dodging Link’s attacks, even though Link wasn’t focusing on him? This certainly proves that the AI (artifical intelligence) is very smart and accurate.

As you can see further on in the video, the Lizalfos is using it’s stone gauntlet to block certain types of slices, in particular the vertical slice. This means that you need to hit it using a horizontal slice. Next the Lizalfos retreats to a more open space, similar to the way Lizalfos did in Ocarina of Time. After several blows, the Lizalfos is defeated. The Lizalfos sounds exactly like the ones from Twilight Princess.

After destroying the Lizalfos, Link then turns to the other one. They both charge at each other and instead of defending, the Lizalfos attacks. The Lizalfos attacks by swinging it’s tail, rather than using it’s stone gauntlet. Link backflips to avoid taking damage. Then the Lizalfos attacks again, only this time Link blocks the attack with his shield, and as you can see in the top left corner, the shield gauge lowers slightly. Afterwards Link uses a spin attack, which then lowers his stamina gauge by over a quarter, so that’s something to take into account when using the spin attack. Shortly after, Link finishes off the second Lizalfos, ending the battle.

And that is all the exclusive videos Game Informer have to offer.
