3DS_Zelda_tc_610Many hardcore Zelda fans are likely already chugging through Nintendo’s latest installment in the series, A Link Between Worlds. For everyone who still needs convincing that the game is worth a purchase (it is), Game Informer has posted a video showing off what they like about the game. You can watch it after the jump.

Each week, Game Informer takes a look at recent game releases in their Test Chamber video series. This week’s highlighted game is none other than A Link Between Worlds. Editors Andrew Reiner and Dan Ryckert, who reviewed the game, watch as Kyle Hilliard speeds through overworld and dungeon action. The video is a little heavy on spoilers, so watch at your own risk.

Ryckert highly recommended A Link Between Worlds in his review of the game by giving it a rare perfect 10-out-of-10 score. He continues to praise the game in this video, saying he wouldn’t change a thing about it. He even ranked it as his third favorite Zelda game, behind A Link to the Past and Ocarina of Time. Considering A Link to the Past is his favorite game of all time, this is high praise indeed.

What in particular do Reiner, Ryckert, and Hilliard like about the game? For starters, they all appreciate how it harks back to its 16-bit predecessor, yet also manages to shake up the Zelda formula. Other features they enjoy are the recharge meter that makes experimenting with different items convenient and fun, the increase in difficulty since Skyward Sword, and the nonlinear approach to completing dungeons. Overall, they seem pleased with Zelda’s return to traditional top-down gameplay. They even call on Nintendo to give Metroid a similar treatment. I for one wouldn’t complain about that.
