Fans of the Legend of Zelda series are no stranger to unforgettable music. Each title contains an assortment of memorable tracks that stick with players through jaunty, catchy tunes and swelling, emotional compositions. It comes as little surprise that many people have been so inspired by these songs that they are compelled to add their own creative star to the greater constellation of Zelda music. One of these individuals is Ben Emberley, who will be debuting the full arrangement of his symphonic poem “The Creation of Hyrule” on YouTube June 7th, 2021.

Those who follow fan-produced Zelda music may already be familiar with Mr. Emberley. He has been involved with the Symphony of the Goddesses concert series since 2016 and even co-wrote the Skyward Sword Symphonic Movement that was added to the show’s lineup in 2017. Before joining Symphony of the Goddesses, Emberley wrote a symphonic poem (a piece of music that tells a story) called “The Creation of Hyrule” to present to the show’s producers. The arrangement derives from over thirty different songs across eight games in the Zelda series, and Emberley credits the piece for helping secure his involvement with Symphony of the Goddesses. He even conducted a partial performance of “The Creation of Hyrule” last year at the Music and Gaming Festival 2020 (MAGFest 2020).

“The Creation of Hyrule” was conceived after Emberley was inspired by the Symphony of the Goddesses concert series, an evolution of the orchestral overture that was performed at Nintendo’s E3 2011 Summit. The June 7th release of his full 55 minute piece will celebrate the 10th anniversary of that performance which so greatly influenced him, this time with added musical content, higher recording quality, and immersive visual elements. Those interested in experiencing this epic musical undertaking can view a trailer of the upcoming debut here.

Alongside “The Creation of Hyrule,” Emberley has also announced two more Zelda projects on the horizon. “The Vision of Fi” is a rerelease of a previous 13 minute composition, detailing the significance of Fi’s role as the guardian spirit of the Master Sword. It will primarily draw material from Skyward Sword‘s soundtrack, but will also incorporate other games as well. What’s more, in celebration of the upcoming sequel to Breath of the Wild, he will also be releasing a medley called “Hyrule Castle,” which will contain arrangements derived from the iconic location’s many themes throughout the series.

Emberley will make the link to the live premiere available in the trailer’s description in the coming weeks. You can learn more about Ben Emberley or check out his previous work on his website, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.
