For those unfamiliar with the Crypt of the NecroDancer series, the games feature rhythm-based movement and attack functions. In 2019, Brace Yourself Games partnered with Nintendo to create a spin-off featuring The Legend of Zelda. While the game wasn’t a hit for everyone, Cadence of Hyrule has a passionate fan base. Brace Yourself Games created a work of love in the game, which is filled with humor, deep-cut musical and story references, and creative animations.
For some players, the rhythm-based play will be a turn-off; however, the game does have accessibility options to assist those who want or need to play without the rhythm requirements. This short game is definitely worth trying for any Zelda fan.
