I think it will be like any other starting area, with a few twists. Unlike other starting areas, I picture this place being quite large. I think there will be a lot of "blocked off" areas that you can't reach until you have a certain item. Once you get the Item, you can go back up to Skyloft, find the place that corresponds to the Item, and explore there. Kinda like in TP when you gather all of the Tears of Light, you can then explore the next area etc.. Maybe, it will lead to other places in which you can go down to Hyrule with the sword to enter new areas there that could not have been accessed before.
