Volvagia and Stallord: Too Similar?

I just noticed that the TP boss in Arbiter's Ground, Stallord looks to similar to Volvagia.

Similarities:
Horns
Hands
Face shape
Long body (Stallord's was hidden under a lot of sand)
The hair going down the neck
Same open mouth
Blows fire
They fly

I think that Stallord is very close to being Volvagia.

What do you think?

Yeah, it's possible that Stallord is the fossil of Volvagia. They do look very similar. But Stallord has a huge ribcage and a different number of fingers than Volvagia. Don't forget that it's also possible that Stallord is the fossil of the Dark Dragon from OoS.

I think that while they are similar, the situations felt unique enough to me. I didn't even think about it before this thread honestly, so for me that's different enough. I actually think it's kinda cool to find similarities like this. Makes me feel all nostalgic and ties the games together more for me.

Aye, they also share the same battle music. I always liked to toy around with the idea that they are one and the same. When Volvagia was defeated his body burned up and left nothing but a skeleton, that's what made me think of it. Then I noticed the music and was like... "Whoa! Maybe I'm on to something..."

As for the slight differences in appearance, I think that can simply be explained by the different art styles. Most enemies look completely different in each game. So yeah, I believe they are the same.

EDIT: How it ended up in Arbiter's Grounds? Zant probably transported it there to destroy Link. Another theory, assuming that they're not the same entity, is that in life it was some sort of beast used to execute prisoners, but one day it got out of hand and the guards were forced to kill it. That explains all the spears lodged in its skull (yeah, the spears are one thing that make me think it might not be Volvagia).

But at the least, its a reference to Volvagia.:)

One glaring disparity here: how on earth did Volvagia's skeleton get transported to the Arbiter's Grounds from Death Mountain? Something to ponder.

I would think it was entirely possible they are the same, especially after Linebeck1000's comment about how Volvagia burns up after you beat him haha.. sounds far fetched...... but, alas Aelic is right. The ribcage is completely out of place, and if that weren't enough, the different number of fingers alone is enough to ruin the theory. No creature can generate more fingers during its lifetime, obviously. It is an interesting theory though.

Yes, the ribcage and a few other features do look more mammalian than reptilian I'll admit... But as for the size, I don't think its that much of a stretch for the ribcage to fit inside the body, especially considering how big the head is (it looks to be only slightly smaller than the ribcage); Volvagia's head is the same width as his body. But then there's that long neck that Volvagia has... But like I said, I think I'm going to chalk it up to the art style. In some games moblins are pigs and in some they're bulldogs, for one example. And there are a lot of enemies that have a different number of fingers in each game.

But yeah, I'm willing to admit there are flaws in the theory. I added some stuff to my last post BTW.

Volvagia is more similar to Barba, which was actually renamed to Volvagia in the GBA remake.

OniGozu, this hat nothing to do with AoL.... This is what I support, but this theory is just a theory and never proven. Considering the reactions the Gorons have toards the gerudo mask, this is supported a little. When Ganon entered Goron City, he was displeased with their leader. So, he dropped of a little present. (King Dodongo.) Link eventualy comes and saves the goron and is named the goron hero. In fact, some gorons are even named after him in the future. When Ganon gained control of hyrule, he caused a lot of mishaps such as the Zora Domain freezing over and the presence of Volvagia. (The Great Deku Tree thing was done in the past.) People think that the Goron deity was another present given by the Gerudo to the Gorons. If that is true, it would make sence that the Gerudo retreived their greatest weapon to entoumb it.

Nothing to do with AoL? Barba was renamed in AoL to Volvagia in the remake, how does that have nothing to do with AoL. Think before you post.

It's a good theory, but to everyone who thinks it can't because of artistic differences, keep in mind that each Zelda game has its own artistic direction. Minor details like the displacement of the ribcage and too many fingers should not be proof that two things can't be the same. After all, hasn't Gohma transformed from a spider into a centipede and into a crab?

And of course, this is the LEGEND of Zelda. Legendary tales often exaggerate on details anyway.
