So, my amateur two cents:
Johnny’s behavior does have me wondering. He was quick to try to change the trend of the bandwagon when it looked like Deku was in trouble and it seems weird to me that he’d make excuses for Deku, lamenting that he was being hounded for baseless reasons when that’s just evidently exactly how day 1s are supposed to go anyway. It sucks that someone has to be lynched day 1, but the consensus seems to be that it’s in the town’s interest to get a lynch hunt going day 1, no matter how baseless the reasons behind it are, to help provide us information on day 2. Being a veteran Mafia player it looks like he’d know that. Then again, him being a veteran mafia player makes me think he wouldn’t make such a stupid mistake on day 1. But if your scum buddy’s about to die I imagine even veteran players slip up from time to time.
However, Thar’s behavior still has me suspicious for jumping off and also trying to save Deku when day 1s need a “deku” to happen. I can easily see Johnny trying to divert the bandwagon with a Thar accusation with Thar also being scum (perhaps Thar’s scum role is less valuable than Deku’s was). And of course he’d have no issue doing it if Thar’s town. But it’s weird to see Thar, after being accused by Johnny, come to Johnny’s aid in day 2 by claiming that he can assure us Johnny doesn’t have a sword…I don’t know guys, but it smells like some kind of scum buddy fishery to me.
Then again, Thar could just legit have not wanted to be part of Deku’s lynch for emotional reasons and he could be truthfully telling us that Johnny doesn’t have a sword and therefore wasn’t whatever anti-town party that killed Justa last night, and of course Johnny could have been swayed by sympathy too it comes to his defending Deku. It’s hard to say at this point. I’m with Rep though in that assuming Thar is town and Johnny not being the killer last night, that doesn’t in any way clear Johnny from being scum. It just means that he wasn’t whatever party that killed Justa.
Basically, I’m just suspicious of Thar and Johnny. But I’m not willing to vote yet.
